What is the Turkish YÖS Exam?
This exam is considered the first step for foreign students to enter Turkish universities. YÖS is an abbreviation for the Turkish phrase “Yabancı Uyruklu Öğrenci Sınavı”, which means Foreign National Student Exam. In this exam, foreign individuals participate in order to enter Turkish universities. Some people probably use the term “Konkur of Turkey” to refer to the YÖS exam. This naming might sound a bit scary, but rest assured that the Turkish YÖS exam has no similarity to the terrifying and famous Konkur in Iran.

What are the conditions and rules for registering for the YÖS exam?
Students who intend to participate in the YÖS exam must meet the following conditions. If your conditions do not match any of the following, you will not be able to continue the registration process:
1- There is no age limit for participating in this exam, and all individuals who have completed the pre-university level of the old system or the twelfth grade of the new system can participate in this exam (twelfth-grade students can also participate in this exam).
2- The student must have a valid passport with sufficient validity.
3- The student must not have Turkish citizenship.
4- If the student has Turkish or Northern Cyprus citizenship but has not completed their last three years of high school in these countries, they will be considered eligible.
Note: To participate in this exam, you must have completed 12 years of education.

Is there an interview in the YÖS exam as well?
